for developing inclusive leadership and partnerships in international Youth cooperation.

BACKGROUND

The project International Youth Forum "BRICS PLUS" was developed during the International Forum on Public diplomacy "INTERYES" in the Ulyanovsk city of the Russian Federation from 2-8 April 2021 where 100 young leaders from different spheres of the BRICS countries and other countries of the world were gathered together to discuss topical issues related to the development of public diplomacy, and look for ways to solve existing challenges through the involvement of young people in international cooperation.

The project was one of the winners of the grant competition of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund held within the framework of the International Youth Forum "Eurasia Global-2021" which took place in the Orenburg city of the Russian Federation from September 2-8, 2021. The Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund has selected 9 projects as the winners of the grant contest out of 27 projects presented by the Foreign participants. In 2021, 92 applications were received during the correspondence stage of the contest. 

The Forum is organized by the International Youth Edu-Skills Foundation with the support of the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund in India from 12-16 December 2021 in hybrid format (offline + online)

 

ABOUT THE PROJECT

The International Youth Forum "BRICS PLUS" aims to unite youth leaders, public organizations, youth activists, scholars, scientists, entrepreneurs and students from the BRICS and friendly countries to provide better understanding and knowledge of the BRICS and develop and future cooperation in the field of culture, academic, youth, sports, business, and creative industries.

The forum will create positive image of BRICS among the youth from different countries. It will also become a platform to develop partnerships at the youth level and expanding more information about BRICS countries. It would bring the spread of BRICS Youth cooperation to use dissemination and development of previously achieved results promoting new ideas and attracting new partners from the other countries to work closely and create a new form of cooperation.

AIM

The main aim of the International Youth Forum "BRICS PLUS" is to build an inclusive partnership among young leaders to spread the idea of cooperation with BRICS, creating awareness of the opportunities that BRICS block could bring to them and their respective countries.

OBJECTIVES

The objectives of the International Youth Forum "BRICS PLUS"are to:

  • Raise awareness about BRICS among youth and explore the opportunities.

  • Develop inclusive leadership among youth for cooperation with BRICS.

  • Share knowledge and information on the recent development in the field of art, culture science, business and academic spheres within BRICS countries.

  • Review the BRICS results of BRICS Chairship in 2021 and prepare proposal the for the BRICS leadership in the framework of BRICS PLUS.

  • Achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals through practical actions.

  • Encourage young people and the people around them to develop a healthy lifestyle and environmental protection concept.
